Amsterdam

Amsterdam is gorgeous! I love Europe!

Pascal and I meet up with our mates from NZ living in Edinburgh, Mark and Sylvia. So here we were, 4 Kiwis taking on Amsterdam!

Amsterdam is so quiet compared to New York. I love the old buildings and how the canals wind around the city.
The first day there we went for a boat ride down the canal with Andy, Mark and Sylvia. This is really cool way of sightseeing as you don't need to use your feet! After New York my feet were so sore! Perhaps not as bad as Rebeccas!

Bikes rule the city of Amsterdam. They also are very aggressive and don't like ignorant kiwis getting in their way!! When crossing the road, you need to look for cars, trams, bikes and motorbikes. Keepng in mind that they are on the right hand side of the road and they each have their own pathway! So you can imagine the amoutn of chaos and stress it was just to get over to the other side!

Haha and then we get to the nightlife of Amsterdam! Pac was very interested in the blue lights and was keen to learn more about them! So Mark insisted that he would take Andy and Pac on a personal tour of the redlight district. Im not sure what happened but they came back very quickly!

As we only had two days in Amsterdam we packed it full of cycling round the city, visitng a museum, shopping, free walking tours, eating and of course checking out the red light district. The Dutch are so friendly and they all speak english.

Well now off to France for 6 weeks... i cant wait.

Grosse bises, Kristyn xxxx
