We spent our second day beach hopping around Oahu, seeing all the beaches. Spent ages watching people get hidings, was awesome. The beach at Waikiki is ok but nothing on the other beaches where noone goes. Turns out wednesday night was
halloween, people here really go crazy on halloween, every man dog and child is out on the streets dressed up, was some really good costumes out there, also some girls wearing very little, which obviosly I found morally repugnant and averted my eyes....... but the camera had other ideas.... see photos sectionYesterday we did the obligatory tour or Pearl Harbour which was good. Had a wee cruise out to the USS Arizone memorial. Then we climbed the Diamond Head Crater which overlooks Honolulu, sadly it rained heavily and we got soaked....But is so hot it kinda nice.
Today we walked and sun bathed on Waikiki beach, our first time as we've spent most of our time outa town. On thing has become abundantly clear, my body is irresistable to locals of the 6 legged kind at least. Since the sealice in Fiji I have been constantly attacked by all manner of pestilent filth leaving my rippling body covered in spots sores and lumps, i'm itching and scratching like mad, all the while Kristyn goes on her merry way largely unaffected. This afternoons was horse trekking on the east side of the island, a nice we jaunt up an incredible steep sided valley that is used for heaps of filming, saw heaps of Jurassic Park sets,Pearl harbour sets, Lost set, 50 1st dates set and the Godzilla footprints. This was my first time on a horse and I handled my steed with grace and was a regular little cowboy for the day.Thats all, im so tired, gonna go, got plane to catch in the am then going to the top of Mauna Kea to Observatory.......
